Monetizing UGC

The power of collaborative communities comes from the free use of the Internet. The key challenge for publishers is therefore to monetize this user-generated content. In the case of highly thematic services (such as an automobile forum), the problem is to deliver live value that impacts contributors when they are present on the forum. In the case of community services, on the other hand, with a low level of organization (such as news blogs and personal pages), the problem is to know which context category the content belongs to.

The Scan & Target analysis solution, whether or not associated with moderation, can deliver better real-time targeting of users, whether the system uses banners or text links, CPC or CPM. By displaying an advertisement that closely relates to content that has already been contributed or is in the process of being written, we can improve the CPC and add more value to the displays.

The analysis can isolate the most significant terms in the content being analyzed and/or a large set of content. These are then sent as customization parameters to the ad server to deliver the advertisement that best matches the context. This enables ads to be displayed that are better targeted to the actual content consulted by the users. This no longer depends on prior behavioral analysis, but on displaying an advertisement that relates directly to the content.

Scan & Target technology helps analyze the spelling errors and other alterations generated by your audience. For example, the platform will convert a "Ryana" into a "Rihanna" which could then be interpreted for the purposes of ad targeting.
